To which of the various pathologies in the human movement system can the Body Cognition method be of help?
Occurrences of pain in the orthopedic system, sterile inflammation, bone fracture, sprain, problems related to advanced age, torn muscles, Pes anserine bursitis, etc, are the result of physical behavior, and/or vulnerabilities from birth; often they are the result injuries, accidents, surgery (not necessarily orthopedic – for instance, surgery involving the opening of the chest cavity, mastectomies), but mainly, from our point of view and to our understanding, they are individual – not every sprain is the same in every person, as every body is different and responds differently to injury and to recovery.
Body Cognition method also examines every patient individually based on the array of information provided to us by his/her body – its position as well as its mode of moving.
From this, the personal way to recovery is studied, learned and created while including the patient – he/she learns awareness of the problems while finding solutions and relief – passively, by receiving physical therapy, as well as by internalizing and actively making changes in movement/position habits – as small as they may be.
The amelioration is by nature lasting, deep and methodic – the added bonus of participating in the movement lessons together with the physical therapy optimally enables it.
This combined work contributes to relieving pain, improving the ability to cope, speeding up recovery, and thus to a speedy return to everyday activity.
When a person has an in-depth knowledge of his/her body, is attuned to it and is able to make the most of it without wear or accumulative damage, the health benefits are effective for years to come.
